Chantelle has many years experience as a trainer and facilitator of leadership development and organisational development, and in the design, planning, facilitation, and implementation of socio-economic and people development interventions. She has worked with multicultural groups from developing countries in Africa, Asia and the Middle East, and companies and institutions in Africa and Europe. Her expertise is in supporting leadership in contexts of societal change and transformation, and where diversity and cultural difference, and issues around trauma and social justice are present. She works as a coach of individuals and teams, and facilitator of small and large group processes.
In addition to her work with Teleos, Chantelle is co-founder of Baobab Consulting and Training, based in Cape Town, South Africa. She is on the faculty of the international Gestalt Organization and Leadership Development (iGOLD) Program South, and is a founder of Gestalt Africa, a facility enhancing African professionals’ work with groups and human systems, using sound psychological research and practice.
Prior to her work in coaching, leadership and organisational development, Chantelle was a project manager with South African development resource and capacity-building training agencies. She defined herself as an information and community empowerment activist, working for transformation, even in her previous role as academic research librarian and advisor at the University of Kwa-Zulu Natal.
Chantelle received her Bachelor of Arts (History and Economic History) and a Masters in Information Studies at the University of KwaZulu Natal. She further trained in development project and program management with the German development cooperation agencies, and became a project/program management trainer for international German funded development initiatives. In this, she became interested in leadership and coaching, leadership-followership, and individual and people empowerment. She has extensively studied Gestalt organization and systems development, an approach enabling appropriate and powerful interventions with individuals, teams, organisations and workplace systems. She publishes and teaches internationally in this field.
Chantelle lives between Cape Town, South Africa and Berlin, Germany. She is a first language English speaker, has a working knowledge of Afrikaans and German, and reads French. She has a strong interest in alternative health and holistic personal development through nurturing of body, mind and spirit.
