Carlos Davila, M.A. in Developmental Psychology, is an accomplished Adjunct Professor of Psychology at John Jay College, a DEIB (Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Belonging) in Fitness Consultant at Chelsea Piers Fitness, and a Level 1 Precision Nutrition Coach. He also serves as a faculty member with the National Fellowship for Black and Latino Male Educators (NFBLME), where he holds multiple leadership roles, including Executive Coach, Leadership Council Member, and Interim Program Director for the Milwaukee Chapter.

With nearly 20 years of experience in fitness and psychology-focused spaces, Carlos has specialized in DEIB work within the fitness industry for over five years and has spent the past three years as an executive coach in the education sector. As a person of color, Carlos brings a deep understanding of the barriers and challenges faced by underrepresented groups. His research on microaggressions in sports settings and his expertise in intersectionality allow him to provide a nuanced biopsychosocial analysis of fitness environments.

Carlos’ work with NFBLME emphasizes holistic, human-centered coaching, and he is a sought-after speaker and writer. He has presented and facilitated workshops on microaggressions, intersectionality, and race and gender dynamics in fitness. His publications include articles in academic journals and industry platforms, as well as a book chapter examining the intersectionality of race and gender in high-intensity training spaces such as CrossFit.
