Sally Bogle is a group facilitator and performance coach, working with individuals, teams and organizations, to develop their potential to lead and manage and to effect behavioral change. She developed her facilitation, training and coaching skills and a strong understanding of group dynamics and organisational development through 9 years in the HR and Learning & Development team at the UNITE Group plc.
Since becoming an independent consultant, Sally has worked with clients in a variety of industries, including biotechnology, hospitality, student accommodation, financial services and pharmaceutical both in the UK and abroad. Her work has included first level and senior leadership development, individual and team coaching and helping organizations develop, refresh and challenge their core values. She has a particular interest in developing coaches and is currently working on programs to develop internal coaching capacity within the NHS and Education sector, some of which are accredited. She has considerable experience of coaching those preparing for or transitioning into more senior roles, using action learning for leadership development and designing and running programs for those new to management.
Sally has a naturally open and supportive approach, which tends to encourage openness from others and enables assumptions and behaviors to be challenged in a direct but non-threatening manner. She has experience of and ability to work with people from different backgrounds and with a variety of types and levels of experience. Sally works equally well 1:1 and with groups, paying close attention to what is happening in the room as data to assist the learning and development process for whomever she is working with. She has a very strong belief in human potential, both individual and collective and pays particular attention to meeting people ‘where they are’ in order to help them get clarity about their current situation and what they are trying to achieve and to stretch their own boundaries of possibility.

Sally became an independent consultant in April 2008 and has worked with clients including Human Recognition Systems, Urbanest (Australia), Whitbread, Somerset Education Authority, and NHS, in areas such as 1:1 coaching, leadership development and coaching skills development. She continues to run leadership programs and some management training programs for UNITE.

Sally joined Relume as an associate shortly after becoming an independent consultant. Since joining them, she has worked with clients such as Prudential, Glaxo Smith Kline and Aviva.
UNITE Group Plc — 1999 — 2008. LEARNING & DEVELOPMENT DIRECTOR
Sally had a variety of roles within HR and Learning & Development culminating in the role of L&D Director. In this role she developed the use of coaching, mentoring and inquiry-based action learning as a particularly successful combined methodology for the development of senior leaders across the Group and facilitated this work. All UNITE's current senior leadership team, including the CEO and CFO, came through this program. She also coached several members of the senior team and oversaw the development of a Post-graduate Diploma in Student Hospitality Management in partnership with Leeds Metropolitan University. In 2007 her strategy was short-listed (top 5) for Best Learning & Development Strategy in the UK HR Excellence Awards.
Sally has a BA (Hons) in English and an Msc in Coaching & Development. She is a Member of the European Mentoring and Coaching Council and has regular coaching supervision. She broadened her understanding of group dynamics and relations through a year's study with the Institute of Group Analysis, gaining their Introductory Certificate. She is qualified in the Myers Briggs Type Indicator and has used this tool extensively with teams and individuals. She is also interested in mindfulness techniques, gestalt and complexity theory and how these may impact how we think about leading, learning and change.
